"Christopher Eric Hitchens (13 April 1949 – 15 December 2011) was an English-American socio-political critic and public intellectual, who mainly expressed himself as an author, journalist, orator, and columnist. He wrote, co-wrote, edited or co-edited over 30 books, including five of essays on culture, politics, and literature.
Hitchens described himself as an anti-theist, who saw all religions as false, harmful, and authoritarian.[27] He argued for free expression and scientific discovery, and asserted that they were superior to religion as an ethical code of conduct for human civilisation. He also advocated separation of church and state. The dictum "What can be asserted without evidence can also be dismissed without evidence" has become known as Hitchens's razor.[28][29]
A heavy smoker and drinker since his teenage years, Hitchens died from esophageal cancer in December 2011."

What I like and respect most about Christopher Hitchens is what I like most about comedian George Carlin, which is their consistency. Hitchens wasn't an anti-Christian or anti-Protestant, like a lot of faux Atheists today who are really just anti-Christian and Protestant. (Especially if those Christians are form a certain race, ethnicity, and certain part of the country) Hitchens was an Atheist, period. He opposed all religions, including Christianity, but Eastern religions as well. And Hitchens like Carlin are two of the best advocates for free speech and personal freedom that you'll ever see and hear anywhere in the world.
