Salon: Steve Kornacki: 'The GOP's Emerging Bob Dole Problem'

Source:Salon Magazine- is Mitt Romney the Bob Dole of 2012?

Source:FreeState MD

“A flood of new data points to one clear conclusion: At least for now, President Obama and his Republican opponents are heading in opposite directions.

A CBS News/New York Times poll released last night puts Obama’s approval rating at 50 percent — his best performance in that survey since the spring of 2010 (not counting last May’s brief bin Laden bounce). The poll also shows Obama enjoying his best score since the summer of ’10 on his handling of the economy and his best score since at least late 2009 (when the question was first asked) on job creation, and finds voters more optimistic than they’ve been in nearly two years on the overall direction of the economy.

This comports with other recent surveys. According to RealClearPolitics’ database, three polls released in the last two weeks have the president’s job approval at or over 50 percent. Before this, you have to go all the way back to the very end of the bin Laden bounce, in mid-June, to find a single poll with Obama that high. (In that same span, three surveys put his approval rating below 40 percent.) The relationship between Obama’s improving fortunes and the economic headlines of the past few months — declining unemployment since last September punctuated by a jarringly strong January jobs report — seems undeniable.”

Bob Dole probably made a mistake running for President in 1996. He wasn’t too old, but he was pass his time as far as where the country was, who was President and the situation of the country and the fact that he was leading the opposition at a time when the country liked who was in charge. But that he should’ve won in 1988 and I agree with him there.

The Bush attack machine took Leader Dole down in South Carolina. Just like the Romney attack machine took down Newt Gingrich in Florida this year. And had George H.W. Bush team’s not done those things, chances are Bob Dole is the 1988 Republican nominee for president. And Mitt Romney is no longer the frontrunner this year.

Leader Dole in 1996 was trying to convince the country of something they weren’t, which was unhappy: unemployment 5%, high economic growth, falling budget deficit, the country was at peace.

In 2012 what Mitt Romney is trying to do is convince the country of something that Barack Obama isn’t: soft on defense, socialistic, dictator, anti-American, wants to make the country like Europe, etc. I’m not going to layout all the false charges, because hopefully you have better things to do with your time and I would like to keep you awake for the whole post, but you get the idea.

But to tell you this is exactly why the Far-Left doesn’t like President Obama, Occupy Wall Street, the so-called Progressive Caucus, MSNBC talk and company (the real Socialist-McGovernites in America) because Barack Obama isn’t any of these things that the Far-Left in America wants him to be.

While at the same time, Mitt has been unable to convince the country why he should be President and stand up for himself. And answer the charges that are thrown at him. What he does instead is try to change the subject, with his attack machine. And he’s paying a heavy price for it.

Rhythm Nation 1814: The Remixes collects nearly 90 remixes spread across mini-LPs for “Alright,” “Black Cat,” “Come Back to Me,” “Escapade,” “Love Will Never Do (Without You),” “Rhythm Nation,” “Miss You Much” and “State of the World.”

The entire collection is available to stream and purchase on digital music services now.”

I think this photo is from a 1990 Janet Jackson concert in Detroit, Michigan, but I’m not sure. I love this photo, because this outfit was essentially the Janet Jackson uniform from the Rhythm Nation concert (1989-90) with the black blouse, the skin-tight, black denim jeans, and black leather high boots, as well as the long beautiful black hair. And she looked so sexy on stage dancing in that outfit.
Source:Janet Jackson- in concert, perhaps in 1990.

Janet Jackson should be known for her great talents as a performer, as a singer and dancer and even a songwriter, but also one of the sexiest and best looking performers not only of our generation, but also ever. A woman who combines, beautiful baby-face looks and with a great tight sexy body to go with it and never afraid to show it or show it off when she’s performing.

Janet Jackson has a keen intelligence, who knows the world around her and what’s important and what she thinks about it and what she believes needs to be said that perhaps isn’t said enough, overlooked perhaps, or communicated in a way where the most people possible can hear and understand it. This is what Janet Jackson is about and why she’s gone as far as she has to the point I believe her music and act, has topped her brother Michael.

Janet’s been involved in producing her own music because she knows better than anyone what she’s trying to communicate. When I think of Janet Jackson and her music, I think of songs like Black Cat which is a great classic rock song, she performs this song as well as any classic rocker, even though she’s basically a R&B Singer and a great one. Janet has always had great versatility with her ability to combine two great sounds into one song like Black Cat.

Another song from JJ would be Love Will Never Do, again the same Rhythm Nation album. Twenty years later still her best album another very sexy video shot on a beach, the actual song Rhythm Nation where she sings about we are all members of the same world basically. So lets us make the most of it.

Janet Jackson combine both physical beauty, sex appeal, intelligence, talent all into one package and can communicate all of these abilities as a singer, dancer and commentator on world events as well as can be done right now and one of the best ever.  Janet Jackson is the best spokesperson as far as how are generation looks at the world.

Jim Morrison: The Doors Cover Bands

Source:The Daily Journal- 21st Century Lizard King. To play Jim Morrison, you need a great pair of skin-tight, black leather jeans that fits you well, an American-Indian concho belt, and a great pair of cowboy boots. Perhaps multiple pairs of leather jeans and cowboy boots, because Jim Morrison as The Lizard King (1967-69) wore those pants and cowboy boots everywhere, including to church, but weddings, everywhere in public. He should've been buried in his black leather suit. And the vocalist from The Doors Experience, has the look and feel for Jim Morrison down, other than being bigger and taller.

Source:The Daily Journal

“Acclaimed Doors Tribute band “Peace Frog” covers The Doors’ “Touch Me” in Ventura, CA. ”

Source:Curt Ammerman- a pretty good cover for Jim Morrison and The Doors.

From Curt Ammerman

Even though The Doors lead vocalist Jim Morrison died forty years ago and would 68 today and probably still performing, had he grown up and decided to take care of himself like a lot of rockers from his generation, the genre of Jim Morrison still lives on. Sort of like Elvis Presley, except there aren’t as many of any Jim Morrison witness’s today who claimed to see him alive today forty years after he died.

Unlike of course with Elvis, there are people claiming to see Elvis alive. Practically everyday, but there’s sort of the next closest thing with the Lizard King. That’s people pretending to be him, with his classic look with the leather suit cowboy boots, the concho belt, the long thick black hair. The whole package who are lead vocalists in bands. That are basically cover bands of The Doors, playing their music.

You have a guitarist doing his version of Robby Krieger, a drummer doing his impersonation of John Densmore, a Keyboard Player, doing his impression of Ray Manzarak. But of course the guy who gets the most intention, is the person playing the Lizard King. And there are several different versions of The Doors cover bands. Even a Mexican Doors band, with Mexican Lizard King, who has the whole look down. As well as the voice, playing The Doors music, I follow them on YouTube and they do a great job.

The original Lizard King and Jim Morrison will always be the Lizard King. The man who put skin-tight leather jeans on the map, who made leather suits, cowboys boots, concho belts fashionable and mainstream to the point where a lot of rockers especially the headbangers, but classic rockers and rocker chicks like Melissa Etheridege, Meredith Brooks, Joan Jett and rocker guys, The Scorpions, Aerosmith are all now and have been wearing leather jeans with biker or cowboy boots, with metal belts.

Modern rockers wear these outfits and move very well in them, like they are wearing a basketball uniform. And to a certain extent at least Jim Morrison wasn’t afraid to look crazy on stage in concert or in public. Or when he was so drunk he couldn’t tell the difference. But he always has fans that love him so much, with YouTube channels, Facebook pages, other websites, to the point that they’ll do their best job they can being him.

Jim Morrison died at the age of 27, which is a damn shame considering his talent and brilliance. But his legacy will always live on and there will always be guys carrying on the Lizard King as if he didn’t die. To keep his memory going and which is something that’s also part of Jim Morrison’s legacy.

Jim Morrison & The Doors: When The Music's Over (1968)

Source:The Doors- The Lizard King Jim Morrison: Live From Copenhagen, Denmark (1968)

Source:The Daily Journal

"This video is property of:Eagle Rock. .I'm not selling the video or making money from it. I'm sharing a piece of art that is not available on Youtube
The Doors Live In Copenhagen 1968."

This is the concert where The Doors Love Me Two Times video was shot. In that video you see The Lizard King Jim Morrison all leathered up in his skim-tight, black leather suit, sitting on the stool, with the camera going right to him, every time he makes a move on the stool. And then after the video, gets off the stool, drops his leather jacket and does the rest of the show on his feet.

Live From Copenhagen (1968) I believe is the best Doors concert ever. Either Copenhagen, or Live From London, England (1968) is their best concert. (Just wish it was shot in color) During these two shows, The Lizard King Jim Morrison is sharp, witty, and perhaps even sober during the whole show. And you get to hear how good he really was during those shows.

Huffington Post: Maegan Carberry: ‘A State of The Union Guide For Socialists and Racists’

Source:Maegan Carberry- columnist for The Huffington Post.

Source:FreeState MD

“These terms that mean so much to passionate ideologues, like “privilege” or “personal responsibility,” do not really belong to either side. Being a liberal does not make a person a socialist, and being conservative does not make someone a racist.

After every State of the Union and rebuttal, operatives and journalists go on a noble mission to “fact-check” what’s been said. As these convenient “facts” become easier for anyone to Tweet in reinforcement of their particular worldview, we Americans observing at home are asked to buy into the platform outlined by either side for another year. In a special year like this one, we even get to vote the liars out of office if they don’t live up to their promises.

What happens, though, when thoughtful people acknowledge that this model of assessing the health of our nation and setting its agenda is crumbling apart? Furthermore, what would happen if instead of dissecting the disses and assertions, we stepped back beyond The Jobs Narrative we’re being told is the most important thing at stake this Election Cycle and considered what is really going on in 2012?”

Read the rest of Maegan Carberry's article at The Huffington Post. Or not, the decision is completely up to you.

Maegan Carberry is right: being a Liberal doesn’t make someone a Socialist. And being a Conservative doesn’t make someone a racist. But that should go without saying to anyone out there in the universe who actually understands liberalism, socialism, conservatism, and racism. I admit, that’s a very small club that you could fit into a phone both and still have room left over.

But the question is why being a Liberal or Conservative, doesn’t make those people Socialists or racists. Because both liberalism and conservatism are based on individual liberty and limited government. Liberals and Conservatives both believe, going from Jack Kennedy to Ron Reagan, that people should be judge as individuals, not members of groups.

What gets stereotyped today as liberalism and conservatism, aren’t liberalism and conservatism. But in liberalism’s case, sort of looks like neo-communism or democratic socialism: wanting government to take care of people with a King Kong sized superstate there to manage our economic and personal lives for us. Managing our education, health care, health insurance, diet and exercise, what we can watch and how we can talk to people. Socialists tend to believe that the world is too complicated and big of a place to let individuals manage their own lives for themselves.

In conservatism’s case, it’s really Christian-Theocracy and Protestant-Fundamentalism: a mixture of a warped interpretation of Christianity, that you would think would’ve been made up in some Hollywood script, but that there are Americans who take this theocratic ideology seriously and treat it as its real. Mixed in with martial law, where personal freedom, things like to the right to privacy, Freedom of Speech that so-called Christian-Conservatives (Protestant-Theocrats, in actuality) disagree with, where property rights are essentially outlawed, in the name of protecting the moral fiber, character, and security of the superstate. Big government authoritarian nanny statist ideology when it comes personal issues and freedom.

Liberalism is not socialism or communism. And conservatism is not Christian-Theocracy, which is a theocratic and military authoritarian ideology. Liberalism and conservatism are both anti-statism. Not anti-state, but that the state needs to be limited to doing the things that the only the state can do. Which doesn’t include managing the lives of the people.

Russia Today: The Alyona Show: 'Michele Bachmann Wants To Ban Porn’

Source:Russia Today- Alyona Minkovski on U.S. Representative Michele Bachmann. (Republican, Minnesota) I guess President Vladimir Putin doesn't like Michele either.

Source:The Daily Journal

“Michele is the first 2012 Presidential Candidate to sign the “The Marriage Vow: a Declaration of Dependence upon Marriage and Family.” In it there are several issues when it comes to protecting the Institute of Marriage, you must always be against same sex marriage. And no one is for sexual abuse or slavery, or forced anything. But she’s for total banning of porn?! All forms of it?! Take a look.”

“RT (formerly Russia Today) is a Russian state-controlled[1] international television network funded by the federal tax budget of the Russian government.[15][16] It operates pay television channels directed to audiences outside of Russia, as well as providing Internet content in English, Spanish, French, German, Arabic, and Russian.

RT is a brand of TV-Novosti, an “autonomous non-profit organization” founded by the Russian state-owned news agency RIA Novosti in April 2005.[10][17] During the economic crisis in December 2008, the Russian government, headed by Prime Minister Vladimir Putin, included ANO “TV-Novosti” on its list of core organizations of strategic importance to Russia.[18][19][20] RT operates as a multilingual service with channels in five languages: the original English-language channel was launched in 2005, the Arabic-language channel in 2007, Spanish in 2009, German in 2014 and French in 2017. RT America (since 2010),[21] RT UK (since 2014) and other regional channels also produce local content. RT is the parent company of the Ruptly video agency,[5][6][7] which owns the Redfish video channel and the Maffick digital media company.[8][9]

RT has been described as a major propaganda outlet for the Russian government and its foreign policy.[2] Academics, fact-checkers, and news reporters (including some current and former RT reporters) have identified RT as a purveyor of disinformation[42] and conspiracy theories.[48] UK media regulator Ofcom has repeatedly found RT to have breached its rules on impartiality, including multiple instances in which RT broadcast “materially misleading” content.[55] RT’s editor-in-chief Margarita Simonyan compared the channel to the Ministry of Defence and stated that it was “waging an information war, and with the entire Western world”.[16][56] In September 2017, RT America was ordered to register as a “foreign agent” with the United States Department of Justice under the Foreign Agents Registration Act.[57] RT has been banned in Ukraine since 2014,[58] and in Latvia[59] and Lithuania[60] since 2020.”

From Wikipedia

In other Onion worthy news, I actually agree with the Alyona Minkovski on something. Which tells me, it’s time for another head examination. I generally only listen to Alyona to see what Far-Left conspiracy theorists are up to. And if there’s anything I can do to help them. Suggest certain medicine, a good shrink, perhaps a mental institution.

But from time to time (about as often as oceans are dry and Lindsay Lohan is sober) the Alyona produces a good story that’s actually worth listening to and watching (and not just for entertainment value) and should be taken seriously. Actually, I tend to like and respect Alyona. It’s her politics where we tend to differ.

Back in July when Michelle Bachmann (perhaps better known as the Iron Lady at her mental Hospital)  made pornography and same-sex marriage her key issues. That is what happens when she is off her medicine.

Hopefully Michele is back now getting the help she badly needs at her institution. And perhaps she is now running for President and away inside her mental hospital, where she’s a resident. But during her time (as an escaped mental patient) she and Rick Santorum took the same pledge, to outlaw pornography. If the Pope were to convert to Islam and Ron Paul were to declare himself now as a Socialist and only then would Michele or Rick might have an ice balls chance in hell of winning the presidency.

Michele and Rick both argued over who singed the pledge first to outlaw pornography and same-sex marriage and return America to the 1950s. Michele Bachmann finally won the debate, by saying: “Ha! I Signed it first” Nanny, nanny, boo, boo, stick your head in dog doo.” How you come back from that? This is the state of the Republican Party right now. This is what you have to do to be nominated for president there.

These are the issues that drive the modern Republican Party right now, like cabbies drive car: Yeah, we might have 8.5% unemployment, a 15T$ national debt and budget deficit approaching 2T$ and rising costs of living, but it’s your positions on these that are the issues that only 10% of the country cares about, that the Far-Right of the Republican Party cares about.

The Far-Right-Wing of the Republican Party, a small percentage of the country at large, but big enough that the Republicans still needs them to win, because of their inability to bring voters from outside of this small community into the party. These issues won’t put anyone back to work, except for people who fight against these things like on the Christian-Right, but lay off more people or put more people in prison that currently work in the adult entertainment industry. And Republicans will just drive up our national debt and put more people out of work in the process.

Governor Gary Johnson & Sheriff Joe Arpaio: 'Prison Industrial Complex'

Source:Randy 7845- Maricopa County, Arizona Sheriff Joe Arpaio.

"This is a clip from the film "American Drug War: The Last White Hope"

I think two things that we know that really don't work when it comes to prison reform, is locking up drug addicts for simple drug possession or usage, thinking that if we just take their freedom away, they will get their act together and quit illegal narcotics all together. And with all due respect to Governor Gary Johnson who I respect as a Classical Liberal myself, we know that prisons don't work either.

40 years after President Richard Nixon declared the so-called War On Drugs, we have the most drug addicts, even on a per-capita basis, of any country in the developed world. So we know treating drug addicts who are guilty of nothing other than illegal possession or usage or illegal narcotics, like common felons, doesn't work.

We know private prisons doesn't work, because the private prison industry is a for-profit industry. Nothing wrong with for-profit, for the most part, but when you incentivize private companies to lock people up, even if they're no real threat to society, they're going to try to lock up as many people as possible, to get as much money as possible. And, they're going to try to extend the prison sentences of their current inmates, to get more money from taxpayers to pay for their prisons. As well as lobby legislatures and executives for more laws and harsher sanctions for people who commit felonies.
